In 2007 Sam Miranda and the Wangaratta Cycling Club joined forces to hold the first "Sam Miranda King Valley" High Country Road Race from Mansfield, through Whitfield and finishing at Sam Miranda King Valley Winery located at Oxley.
In 2008 saw the introduction of the Criterium making the High Country Road Race a two day event.
Sam's passion and commitment for cycling will continue through to 2012 buy securing exclusive sponsorship rights for the "Sam Miranda King Valley" High Country Road Race. Wangaratta Cycling Club is looking forward working with Sam and his team over the next couple of years on this event, please support Sam and call in for a meal and a red at Sam Miranda's King Valley Winery when passing through the area next.
Just a bit of History
Sam Miranda is a third generation winemaker, continuing his family tradition and passion for producing premium wines. After establishing his own winery in 2004, Sam has devoted himself to producing a selection of quality, handcrafted wines showcasing the distinct varietal characteristics of the King Valley. All Sam Miranda wines are made here, at our Oxley Winery, from fruit grown in selected vineyard sites in the heart of the King Valley, including our vineyards in Myrrhee. Come and visit us on the Snow Road Oxley and experience the ambience of an underground cellar as you enter the subterranean passage leading to our tasting area.
